I’m sitting in front of my computer writing this blog post, but instead of my usual Diet Coke, I am indulging in a bowl of ice cream. Many people are familiar with the popular TV host of the Colbert Report. I’ve been saddened to discover, however, that some viewers of the Colbert Report have not discovered Steven Colbert’s Americone Dream by Ben & Jerry’s.

I admit that I was skeptical at first. After all, it’s an ice cream named after a comedian! I figured that it was a flavor they made just to get the star power that Colbert could bring to the brand. That’s still a possibility, but the vanilla ice cream with chocolate covered waflle bits in a swirl of caramel is excellent, no matter who it’s named after. There may be some skeptics who search for more elegant vendors of frozen goodies and I believe that they are simply unenlightened.

While it will never replace my customary Diet Coke, I think that it will be a rare indulgence when I’m in the mood for some Colbert yumness. (Yes, I’m allowed to make up words. If you start your own blog, you can make up words too.)
